The Cursed (League of the Black Swan #1) Review

5 out of 5 Stars

The Cursed is set in an intriguing world with characters you will love who are mysterious and interesting and a plot line that will keep you guessing until the end. I loved Rio and Luke. Both have dangerous secrets, Luke has been cursed and even though he has fallen for Rio he has stayed away from her for fear that his curse will harm her. Rio is an orphan who knows nothing about her parents and who has always been a loner. Suddenly everyone in Bordertown is interested in her and she needs Luke's help.
The story is both sexy, action packed and hilarious. Even though Luke has been pinning for Rio secretly, he is poisoned early on in the story and his alpha nature comes out with Rio and he tells her how much he wants her, this part of the story had me laughing out loud along with a dirty incident involving a giant duck.
The romance was a blast to read. Their interactions and dialogue at times we're both sweet and hot. The sex scenes were sizzling and the love between them was so passionate.
With superb world building an interesting and unique story, the rich and intriguing city of Bordertown and the mysterious Black Swan League this is a great start to an excellent new series. I am anxious to get more of Rio and Luke and all the other citizens of Bordertown and the Black Swan League.

Lucas (Vampires in America #6) Review

3.5 out of 5 Stars

Lucas is everything I love about this series. Strong, charismatic powerful vampire lords who are passionate and possessive of their people and the women they love. His past with Raphael was interesting and I wanted more interactions between them. He instantly hooked himself into my heart with his sweet and sexy cowboy nature.
Kathryn on the other hand really never struck a cord with me. She is the typical cookie cutter FBI agent, a woman in a male dominated world, it seemed I've read numerous heroines just like her. She wasn't unique or very interesting and I never saw the passion from her for Lucas that he shows. The sex scenes were hot and fan worthy like Ms. Reynolds is known for but their wasn't that heat and sizzling chemistry that the other books have had.
While I enjoyed the story line and the war between him and the neighboring lord it was kind of anticlimactic. Their was a build up to this big fight that fizzled flat. I still love the series and will continue to read them for her fantastic alpha lords. I am happy to hear that she is going back to Cyn and Raphael my favorite couple next.

Shadow's Claim (The Dacians, #1) Review

5 out of 5 Stars

Trehan is the shadow prince of Dacia. He lives his life protecting their hidden realm from being discovered. When chasing Caspion a demon who threatens Dacia's secrecy he discovers Bettina his half demon/ half sorcery Bride.
I loved Trehan like I have all of Ms. Cole's IAD men. He's strong, intelligent, passionate and possessive and yet with Bettina he shows us he is also soft and caring.
Bettina won me over almost instantly. She is witty, feisty and just coming into her own. I really liked her but at times I also wanted to ring her neck in regard to her one track mind about Caspion.
The romances in these books are what really make these stories. The hilarious banter between couples, sizzling romance and romantic tension make for fantastic reads that I can't seem to get enough of. I especially liked Bettina and Trehan because of the sexual tension and contestant teasing.
Hilarious secondary characters and dialogue, sexy alpha men, strong independent women, beautiful romances and story lines that suck you in these books are not to be missed. Not to mention the all powerful and all knowing Nix who I absolutely love and can't wait to see what she is up to in every new book.

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark #12) Review

5 out of 5 Stars

I'm a little late to the game with reading this one but I've had so many books on my TBR pile that it got pushed back. I really wish that hadn't happened.
I started this book liking Lothaire for his hijinks in past books but quickly started to hate him. The ultimate broody bad boy his interactions with the lovable hillbilly Ellie made me start to despise him. His one tracked way of thinking quickly catches up to him and Ellie's inability to give into him starts to take its toll on Lothaire and he starts questioning himself which was when I finally started to change my feelings. At times this story had me laughing out loud and then breaking my heart. It was a whirlwind of wanting to beat Lothaires head against the wall and other times wanting to kiss and hold him. As always though in the end everything was resolved and I grew to absolutely love Lothaire even if he is still aggravating and slightly crazy. Nix of course stole the show as always and I loved getting more backstory on her and Lothaire which leaves me wanting her story quickly and to see more interactions between the Black King and White Queen.

A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses (Half Moon Hollow, #2) Review

4.5 out of 5 Stars

Another fabulous book by the very talented Ms. Harper. After losing a family member Nola is tasked with going to Half- Moon Hollow to collect family heirlooms before a rival family finds them. Her adventure was a joy to read. Between the hilarious interactions with her newly discovered undead family and the sexy ones with Jed I didn't want to ever stop reading.
Nola and Jed were great together. They both are keeping secrets from the other and the angst that it causes added a new dimension and a twist that I didn't see coming. The best parts though were Nola's times together with Jane, Andrea and Dick. I couldn't stop laughing at times. My only complaint and the lose of the half star came from Nola and Jed's lack of romance. While I loved them together we didn't get near enough actual romance time. Hopefully in later stories we'll get more.
I love this world of vampires, shifters and witches. The fact that the supernaturals are out of the closet and not everyone is happy about adds an interesting aspect. She has created a world with unique, quirky and entertaining characters and over the top story lines that have you laughing out loud and wanting more. A fast- paced, hilarious and sexy read that just keep getting better with each new addition to the series. With every new book I feel like I'm reading about old friends that I love.
