Another fantastic story from one of my favorite authors.
In this novella set in the Night world we see Colin, now a biter and broken man unable to cope with his lose of flight from the battle in book 2 of the series Night Demon.
When he returns to Ireland he meets Juliana who is deaf with the gift of prophecy. Through her he thinks he can finally find the way to overcome his disability.
But an ancient evil has returned and threatens to destroy the life and love that is beginning between Colin and Juliana. They must rely on each other and for Colin to get past the pain and bitterness of his disability to defeat their enemy and be together.
This is a beautiful short story of a broken man and the woman who finally heals him. I loved the characters and the story and really hope to see more of them in the future. Lisa has a way of writing that draws you into the world she has created. You feel all the emotions of the characters she writes and live their battles right along with them.
While this could be a standalone, I highly recommend you read the rest of the series from the beginning. It is one of the best PNR series I have read.
