This is the second book in a fantastic new steampunk series by Bec McMaster. Phenomenal world- building, imaginative, fast-paced story lines and complex lovable characters, this series draws you in and holds your attention until the very last word. Will is a brooding, tortured hero who is loyal to his family and loves with all his being. Struggling to control his wolf nature and the attraction to Lena that threatens his tight control he fights himself and those who threaten her. Lena is compassionate about the cause she is fighting for and trying to avoid Will and the feelings she has for him. She begins to struggle with her new life as a debutante trying to figure out who to trust while navigating the deadly world of the Echelon as a spy.
Weaving a wonderful mix of Victorian England and steampunk elements into a unique and vivid story that continues the excellence of the first book Kiss of Steel. A must read for anyone who loves a steamy romance, steampunk and interesting characters that you can't help but love and root for. I can't wait to get more of the mysterious Mercury the lead in the next book of the series My Lady Quicksilver due to be released in October
