The book begins with Nikki starting a new case with Jake her best friend. They've been tasked to follow a teenage boy whose mother thinks he will run away. While following the kid they run across a group of vampires who take the boy and severely injure Jake. Now she has to find the vampires and the boy before its to late.
Michael who walked away from Nikki without a goodbye has been tasked by Selina to join up with Nikki to track the same vampires. He's kept his distance for six months believing that although he loves her, he is no good for her. His life and past are to dangerous.
The story really takes off when they join forces. Michael tries to keep Nikki at arms length but she isn't having that. She knows they are in love and is determined to make it work between them. This book we finally see them get some sexy time. I love that with each book their relationship keeps getting stronger, they each continue to grow and we get more and more into their pasts and all the darkness it entails.
Jam packed with nonstop action, mystery and romantic tension the story reels you in and doesn't let you go.
